The softball tournament gets back underway at 9 a.m., and the food court opens at 10 a.m.
Mini Car Races
At 11 a.m., Mini Car Races will be held on Division Street in front of the Pal Cafe. Children ages 2 to 10 are encouraged to bring any sort of “kid car” and race the small section of road, which will be tapped off for the event. Any sort of small, motorized (such as battery powered kid cars) or non-motorized vehicle are encouraged.
The central feature of Sunday — the parade — begins at noon. The parade route will follow the same path as in past years, from the Chequamegon High School parking lot, east on Ninth Street, south on Second Avenue, and snaking west onto Division Street for a few blocks before ending. The parade theme this year is “Take Me Out to the Ball Game,” a tip of the hat to parade marshal Tom Armstrong. A worship and praise contemporary music set will perform from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on the main stage at the festival grounds. Marty’s Goldenaires Drum & Bugle Corps will again be a part of the parade, and will also perform at AJ’s Bar & Dining, and then the Legion Hall following the parade.
Live music by Robby Vee
After a rockin’ good time and great Sunday turnout last year, Robby Vee is back on the Forward Bank Stage this year with his blend of rockabilly and Americana music, favoring stylings the likes of Chuck Berry. Vee and his band will have the crowd dancing from 2:30-6 p.m., when the festival grounds close.
As in past years, the Park Falls Fireman’s Stand will remain open after 6 p.m., serving food and beverages through the evening for those folks looking for a particularly local flavor to their hometown event.
