Flambeau Rama Friday starts bright and early at 8 a.m. with sidewalk sales and retail promotions at merchants around Park Falls. The library’s Big Book Sale also runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Daytime music this year will be at the American Legion Hall at 274 N. 3rd Ave. Franky Baroka and his polka band will perform from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the hall. The ease of the wooden dance floor, legion bar on hand, and climate controlled atmosphere are sure to provide a fine environment for the afternoon.
The food court on the main fairgrounds opens up at 11 a.m. and at noon the carnival opens. Parents with kids will be able to enjoy the Family Fun Day from 1-4 p.m. between the main tent and swimming pool, which includes a variety of games, starting with a sawdust dig at 1 p.m.
Frog jump contest
Get your hoppers ready — the frog jump contest starts at 5 p.m. at the Park Falls Fire Department Stand on Third Avenue, just across the street from the Legion Hall.
The softball tournament also begins at 5 p.m., on the softball field at the Park Falls Athletic Complex. At last count, there were around a dozen teams registered for this year’s tournament.
Live music by Red and Friends, Haley Grace
Music by local band Red and Friends will begin at 5 p.m. on the Forward Bank Stage in the main tent. They play a variety of music, crossing genres from country to folk. They will play until 9 p.m.
Haley Grace and The Rebels return this year to take will take the main stage at 9 p.m., performing high-energy country variety music until the festival grounds close at 1 a.m.
The Safe Ride program will be available from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. for anyone who needs a ride home. This free program is a no-questions-asked ride provided by volunteers from the Family Worship Center. Any tips from riders will go directly to support youth and children’s ministries.
