Spirit-Hill-Ogema 4-H Fair to be held this weekend

The 77th annual Spirit-Hill-Ogema 4-H Fair will take place on Friday, Aug. 9 and Saturday, Aug. 10 at the Spirit Town Hall, located 10 miles east of Ogema on State Highway 86. Members of the Happy Hoboes, Hillbillies, and Hamburg Hawks 4-H clubs will be exhibiting more than 300 entries this year. Friday evening is entry time; on Saturday, judging begins at 9 a.m. for all indoor exhibits. Animal judging begins at 9:30 a.m. Kraft's Kuddly Kritters Petting Zoo will be offered from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A buffet lunch will be served on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the town hall basement; additional food items will be offered for purchase throughout the day. Outdoor games including the egg toss and tug-of-war will begin at about 12:30 p.m. A silent auction, featuring a variety of merchandise, will end at 2 p.m. Exhibits can leave the hall site at 3 p.m. An evening program beginning at 7 p.m in the Spirit Town Hall will feature entertainment by the participating 4-H clubs, presentation of trophies and announcement of the 2019 Spirit-Hill-Ogema 4-H Fair royalty. Zoe Price, the daughter of Pastor and Mrs. Rodney Price, is the reigning fair queen. There is no admission charge to attend this family-friendly community fair.
