PHILLIPS — The last of three defendant cases to be resolved regarding a 2018 heroin overdose death in Park Falls will move forward to trial after a fitness for trial report was received at Price County Circuit Court.

Price County Judge Kevin G. Klein lifted a competency hold for defendant Alexis Dawn Boraas-Stueber, 26, of Park Falls, at a Nov. 14 hearing. The court found Boraas-Stueber not competent to stand trial in February and ordered her committed for treatment. The case was suspended until medical evaluations were conducted to determine if she would be competent to stand trial for first-degree reckless homicide-deliver drugs, with a party to a crime modifier.
