South Shore

Defensive pressure like that applied here by Cardinals junior Kiley Mueller in a Nov. 18 home victory over Prescott is a program staple that could propel South Short this season. The Cardinals lost only one player from last year’s 22-5 squad. (Contributed photo by Isaac Rantala)

Sky-high expectations may be following the South Shore Cardinals girls basketball program this season and, for anyone following the team that finished second in the Indianhead Conference last season, that likely comes as no surprise.

South Shore returns all-state, UW-Stevens Point recruit senior Lily Truchon with her 24.2 point-per-game scoring average, and she is not alone on a stacked roster that lost just one senior, starting guard Abby Lahti, from last year.
