Ashland High School fishing team members Jesse Chingo and Alex Westlund  currently lead the Wisconsin Interscholastic Fishing Association statewide standings. Chingo is pictured with a 41-inch lake trout, and Westlund is pictured with a 31-inch brown trout.

Ashland’s Dakota Carter-Hmielewski holds his 39 ¼-inch lake trout in this recent photo. This 25-pound catch puts Carter-Hmielewski in second place in the Wisconsin Interscholastic Fishing Association standings, and as his seventh species, qualifies him as a WIFA Master Angler.
