The John J. Moran Memorial Adult Junior Golf Tournament was held at Chequamegon Bay Golf Club on Sunday, Aug. 21, with a record 120-plus participants including 62 junior golfers. The annual event, which serves as an Elks Club Youth Foundation fundraiser to support local youth organizations, was founded more than 40 years ago by the late John Moran, a long-time Ashland resident known for his devotion to civic and charitable causes.

Janeen and Jeff Castle, owners of The Safari pub in Ashland, now provide direction for the nine-hole scramble tournament which this year raised more than $5,000, according to Janeen Castle.
