Police and fire commission

Members of the Ashland Police and Fire Commission Monday dismissed a citizen complaint filed by former police Officer Brandon Barnes alleging that he was struck in the face by a training officer, Sgt. Gerald Randall. The dismissal came upon the request of Barnes that the matter be dropped by the commission.

Ashland Police and Fire Commission Chairman Gordon Gilbertson was anything but satisfied with the outcome of a citizen complaint filed with the Commission by former Ashland police Officer Brandon Barnes.

The complaint filed by Barnes accused a training supervisor, Ashland police Sgt. Gerard Randall, of hitting him in the face on his second day of training when he failed to comply with instructions.
