The third annual Northern Pines Sled Dog Race in Iron River, scheduled for this Saturday, Feb. 20, has attracted more mushers than ever. The multi-faceted race with a spectator-friendly location is growing in its own right, and is also one of the few dog sled races running this year due to COVID.
“It’s grown significantly,” race marshall Rob Lombard said. “We had around 24 our first year and last year we had 32 and we’re up to 41 this year. A great showing.”
