Scores of Ashland-area residents braved Monday’s cold and rainy weather to pay tribute to members of the military who gave their lives in service to the country. The city’s Memorial Day services were held at the band shell downtown and included wreath presentations, recognition of gold-star families, patriotic music and a rifle salute by the Chequamegon Veterans Firing Squad.
