Lorraine Catherine Kennedy White

Lorraine Catherine Kennedy White was born on May 3, 1927 in Ashland, WI to Alexander Kennedy and Martha Kubley. She died on Sept 3, 2019 at her home in Tucson, AZ at 92 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank P. White, brothers Gordon and James, and sister Mary Ann (VanBeck). She and Frank had five children: Phil, Jim, Clare (Bell), Moira (Przybylowski) and Sarah (Megorden). She left 5 grandkids, and 8 great-grandkids.

Lorraine descended from a hearty, long suffering clan of Scottish Highlanders, who migrated to Canada around 1800, and helped set up Glengarry, Ontario as a new home for all the Scot families who would follow. She was the grand-daughter of Angus Kennedy, policeman, who made the local newspaper a lot as he helped settle the lawless town of Ashland in the 1890s. Angus and many of his extended family came to Ashland in the 1880s, with his second cousin Donald Kennedy, who eventually built and ran a paper mill. Lorraine’s mother was Dutch, and there is extended family all over Wisconsin.
