The 2019 Wisconsin Football Coaches Association All-Star Games will be played Saturday at Titan Stadium in Oshkosh, and this year's games will feature a number of local and area student-athletes and coaches.
Ashland High School Class of 2019 graduates Jordan Brennan (defensive back) and Brennan Corbine (inside linebacker) will suit up for the North Large school team, which will play in the third and final all-star game Saturday at 5 p.m.
Brennan was named the Offensive Player of the Year in the Great Northern Conference last season, while Corbine earned Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Both players were unanimous first-team selections in the GNC for both offense and defense.
Ashland head coach Travis Larson will also be on the sideline as an assistant coach for the North Large squad after helping the Oredockers to an 8-2 overall record and the GNC title last season.
The WFCA also selected three players from Northwestern High School to the North Small school roster, including Nate Ohman (guard), Reagan Ruffi (slot), and Gervase Thompson IV (defensive end).
The Small schools game will be played Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
The WFCA also selected several area players to the North 8-player squad, including Evan Rusch (utility) of Washburn/Bayfield/South Shore, Alex Schmidt (wide receiver) of Mercer/Butternut, and Benjamin Henson (defensive back) and Hunter Phillips (wide receiver) of Northwood/Solon Springs.
Mercer/Butternut head coach Matt Schoeneman was also selected to the North-8 team as an assistant coach.
The 8-player game will begin Saturday at 10 a.m.
