Northland College recently announced the hiring of Maddie Wieland as an assistant coach with the women’s soccer program.

Wieland, a Northland College Class of 2017 graduate, is one of the most decorated players in program history, with 58 goals and 126 total points scored in her playing career.

Wieland helped lift the LumberJills to their first-ever conference championship in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference in 2016, and was also named the UMAC Player of the Year as a senior.

She was named to the All-UMAC First Team three consecutive years between 2014-16 and was selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Region team twice, in 2014 and 2016.

The LumberJills open the 2019 season with a match against Finlandia University at Ponzio Stadium on Aug. 31.
