Maury Roemhild, a 31-year-old Maple Grove, Minn., firefighter ended his own life in 2017.

First responders – firefighters, police, emergency medical services personnel – face unique stresses in their work, and Roemhild’s death galvanized his grieving mother into trying to stop that turmoil that can overwhelming them.
