Ashland's Main Street was lined with people for the annual Fourth of July parade. This year featured perfect weather for the event, with partially cloudy skies in the 80s and a pleasant breeze for the 50 units scheduled to take part in the annual event which honored Police Sergeant Michelle Tutor who was making her last parade ride and will be retiring in the near future after a career spanning 30 years. The event also honored World War II veteran George Matyas, who served in the 87th Infantry Division and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Also featured was U.S. Army Reserve Non-commissioned Officer of the Year Sgt. Josh Smith, an Ashland High School Graduate. Serving as the parade's grand marshall was Mary Kay-Nabozny, Ashland's person of he year for 2019.
