Marlene L. Koleski

Marlene L. (Hebert) Koleski, 78, of Ashland, went to her heavenly home, Saturday, August 3, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born November 24, 1940 in Ashland, the daughter of Oscar and Lempi (Long) Nelmark.

Marlene graduated from Mellen High School in 1958. She married her late husband David Hebert on February 14, 1959 in Ashland where they raised their five sons. Marlene was blessed with a large and loving family and this led to many enjoyable and memorable gatherings during holidays and special events. She also looked forward to and loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marlene was an active member of Assembly of God Church of Ashland. Her devotion, faith and firm belief in God gave her strength throughout her life. She loved reading the bible and encouraged her family and friends to read and explore the gospels. Marlene’s kind, loving and nurturing demeanor touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Marlene married Edward Koleski on August 8, 2015 in Ashland. They enjoyed every minute they had with each other and special times going out for dinner, gardening and landscaping together.

She is survived by her husband, Ed Koleski; three sons, Jim Hebert, Bob (Brenda) Hebert and Brian (Michelle) Hebert; grandchildren, Jay, Josh, Jordan, Megan, Brienna, Nathan, Cory, Brandon, Brady, Brandon, Austin, Kailyn, Thomas, Hailey, Ashley, Andrew, Vanessa, Silas and Jace; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Jeanette (Gordon) Johnson, Carol (Charles) Lindenberg and Bonnie Garrella; brother, Mike (Sandy) Nelmark; step-children, Dana (Clark) Kromenaker, their children Clark Jr. and Eric Kromenaker and Dale (Tina) Koleski, and their children, Christopher and Samantha Koleski and Jack and Ben Powell; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, David in 2013; sons, Jeffrey and David; grandson, Jacob; sisters, Maryann Shilts and Diane Hall; and brothers, Edward, Ronald, David, Reynold, Kenny and Mark Nelmark.

A funeral service will be held at the Roberts Funeral Home in Ashland at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 10, 2019 with Pastor Dan Vander Arc officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Ashland.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
