Throwback Tuesday

Remember the Ashland Stockade located at Bayview Park? The Ashland Stockade, built on part of what is now Bayview Park in the late 1970s, was a tourist curiosity for a number of years, apparently built to mimic the Radisson-Groseillers stockade of Ashland’s first European settlers, although certainly it resembles no historical structure in Ashland. It was taken down after its wooden structure became rotten and unsafe. (Contributed photo)
