The Ashland Oredockers of the Heart O’ North Conference, and Bay-Area Indianhead Conference teams Bayfield, Butternut, Drummond, Mellen, South Shore and Washburn, all competed in their respective conference outdoor meets on Thursday, May 5. With athletes still cross-training for main events by running other distances, it remained somewhat unsurprising that returning state qualifiers from 2021 and fast-rising athletes this season still had strong showings. Oredockers who took first in the HON even held at Northwestern High School in Maple included:
