The Garland City Chamber Players will perform a benefit recital of all Chopin Sunday
Dec. 8 at 4 p.m. at Saron Lutheran Church, 517 Ninth Ave. W. in Ashland. Proceeds from
the concert will go toward the building fund for the continued upkeep of the church, a
noted Ashland landmark. Admission is a free-will donation, with a reception to follow.
On the program are a number of Chopin’s preludes, etudes, waltzes, polonaises and
mazurkas, with Neil Paynter and Jaryd Traaholt as pianists.
The Garland City Players is the only chamber group in the Chequamegon Bay area to
utilize purely local talent. The musicians involved are dedicated to developing an exclusively local classical music scene in an effort to improve the cultural life of the
region. All concerts are benefits, with half of all the proceeds from every recital going to the host venue.
