Robert Emil Johnson of Ashland died July 4th at MMC. Bobby was born August 25, 1941 to Minnie and Emil Johnson.

Bobby was well known around Ashland, he put thousands of miles up and down Main Street and early on was a fixture in the Tackle Box and later at Vaughn Ave Texaco. Not many days went by when he wasn’t seen at the Golden Glow cafe. He rang the Salvation Army bell for over 26 years and was a lifelong member of Saron Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his sister in law, Alice Johnson; nephew, Jay (Margie) Johnson; nieces, Linda (Gregg) Gonsior, Paula (Joe) Johnson, Tammie (Mike) Baker, Donna (Ken) Compton, Margie (Russ) Hintze. He was also survived by his other family member and special friend, Shirley Wallace. There were also numerous great nieces and nephews. At any time you could ask Bobby when anyone’s birthday was and he would remember.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Donald (Alice) Johnson, sister Harriet (Garit) Tenpas and nephews, Howard “Skip” Tenpas and David Johnson.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Saron Lutheran Church in Ashland with Pastor Paul Simmons officiating. Inurnment will follow the services in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Ashland.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, July 9th at the church.
