Elmer Fredrick Heidingsfelder

Elmer Fredrick Heidingsfelder, 78 of Ashland, WI passed away Monday, Oct 14, 2019 after a lengthy lung disease, although not a smoker, at Memorial Medical Center in Ashland. Elmer was born the fourth of five children on Aug 15, 1941 in Ashland the son of William and Olga (Zier) Heidingsfelder and lived in Marengo most of his life.

Elmer was a loving, kind and generous man that solely cared for his mother in her waning years giving her spending money and providing funeral costs. He loved his crazy beagle mix dog he named Pal. He loved hunting and fishing with friends and took at least twenty fishing trips to Canada. He enjoyed snowmobiling with buddies in his younger years and going to breakfast on Sundays to gather with friends and socialize. He also enjoyed cooking and was very good at it, doing all of it for his loving partner of 16 years as well as cooking brats for the Marengo Volunteer Fire Department. He served on the Fire Department for over 50 years, serving as a fire fighter in his younger years and as chief until his health stopped him. He also served on the Marengo Fair Board.

Elmer was a happy smiley man who was respected by his family, friends, co workers and loving partner. He was a staunch advocate of doing what was fair, right and honest. He worked at Hamilton Beach in Racine, WI he then moved back to Marengo after five years. He worked at Hy Bob in Ashland until it closed and then worked at Midland in Ashland in the shop and fuel delivery for thirty one years, retiring in 2003. He is sadly missed but surely is with God and those that passed before him.
