Bill Fleck, 88, of Ashland, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2019 at the Memorial Medical Center in Ashland. He was born on February 17, 1931 in Benoit, the son of Leo and Edna (Ottman) Fleck.
Bill graduated from high school in 1948 and enlisted in the U.S. Army at age 17. He served during the Korean War and was a company clerk in the Philippines. After the service, he started to work at his father’s motor shop, winding electric motors and he worked there for many years. He then went to work at Omer Nelson Electric and later Bretting Manufacturing and worked as an electrician for over 40 years of his life before retiring. Bill loved to golf and was never happy with his score. He also enjoyed shooting pool and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and the Wisconsin Badgers.
He is survived by his wife, Kitty Fleck of Ashland, 7 children, Vicki (David) Schroeder – North Freedom, Connie (Tom) Peterson – Green Bay, Cindy Anderson – Ashland, Debbie (Jim) Kacvinsky – Eau Claire, Gary Fleck – Ashland, Greg (Deborah) Fleck – Ashland and Brian (Katie) Fleck – Ashland, a step-daughter, Holly (Rick) Blevins – Fl, a step-son, Tim (Nikki) Garvin – MI and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Marjorie Fleck, a step-son, Mike Garvin and all of his brothers and sisters.
