A group of North American investors has purchased Multitek Inc., a Prentice manufacturing company founded by the late Leo Heikkinen. The business, which has been operated by his sons Dale, Norman and Howard, is a pioneer in and integral part of the recycling community for three decades.
According to Dale Heikkinen, most of the investors are from northern and central Wisconsin. He said the group is well-financed, has a long-term vision and a successful track record of driving growth in companies like Multitek Inc. that are true industry leaders with strong potential.
"My brothers and I have been thinking about the future of the business and decided this was a good opportunity for us, our employees and the community," he said. "The investment group owns five other companies in the state and is in a growth mode. They have the resources to improve and expand production and take the business, which will be known as Multitek North America LLC, to a new level."
Manufacturing of Multitek's equipment including processors, conveyors, screeners, wheel crushers and attachments will continue in the Prentice facility and the administrative headquarters will also remain there, according to Doug Kamps, president of Multitek North America LLC. He noted the number one priority of the new owners , who are ready, excited and proud to carry on the Heikkinen heritage, are the business's employees and customers.
"The investor group recognizes the value of and appreciates a management team with a strong background in the recycling industry and is grateful that Dale, Norman and Howard will continue in their respective positions at Multitek Inc. during the transition process," Kamps stated. "As we are able to maintain all work and our business structure in its present location well into 2009, the investor group and Multitek North America LLC management team will have the time and flexibility to improve production at the manufacturing facility in Prentice."
